I'm trying to connect an external microphone so I can use my Verizon Droid 4 to record high quality video podcasts. I can use my mic with the Samsung Droid Charge but not the 4. I've run into two problems:
1: The video apps available on the Droid 4 don't appear to allow input from anything other than the internal microphone. Even a bluetooth microphone. Other droids allow allow high quality microphones.
2. The microphone adapters that work from the headset jack on the Samsung Droid Charge (and the iPhone) don't work on Droid 4. It appears to have a different microphone wiring configuration, which has been confirmed by the manufacturer of a microphone adapter for the iPhone. Can anybody from Verizon or Motorola confirm this or make suggestions on how we can use this amazing phone to make equally amazing videos?
