Ultimatum - Galaxy Note Edge

Hello,

This is my ultimatum to you as a long time Verizon customer who is extremely dissapointed in the responsiveness and lack of information from the only phone upgrade I am even remotely interested in. I am currently using a Note 3, I decided not to bother with the Note 4, then they showed the Note Edge. I think the concept, the "gimmick" (which if you'll recall is what people though of the Note series to begin with, look at it now?) is a very cool, and creative step in the right direction, thinking outside the box so to speak, doing something different, something different that i and other customers are very much willing to pay for.

I dont care about Apple phones, I don't even fill up 16GB of space on my phone, why would I want a crappy iphone with much more space than i've ever used EVER on any cell phone? Not to mention giving in to the sheeple (masses) and letting Apple now dictate everything I can and can't do with my phone (by a default, i realize it can be jailbroke, but I like the already open functionality of my Android phones, bite me Apple fanboys)

Will all of the above said, if I don't see a release date for a Galaxy Note Edge from Verizon by midnight January 1st/2nd I will be terminating my services with Verzion and going with a carrier who can and WILL provide me the new shinies that I actually want to pay them for, oh and save me about 10-20 bucks a month on service as well.

Thanks for your time,

- Mike

We certainly don't want to see any long time customer contemplating leaving because of a phone, Lynkd34d. We do hope you reconsider staying with the reliable service you've enjoyed with us. I don't have a date when the Note Edge will be available. We are always hard at work with Samsung and Google to ensure the devices that are activated onto the network we provide live up to our high quality standards. Any details on the Note Edge will be available at www.vzw.com/noteedge as it's announced. Although we don't manufacte the phones, it's always important to us that you have a working device so please let us know if there's anything going on with your Note 3 that we can assist with while you wait for the next device to arrive.

Ok first of all your threatening Verizon on a CUSTOMER to CUSTOMER forum. Secondly you are saying if Verizon does release the Note Edge you're willing to pay $20 more per month? If you can save money by leaving AND getting the phone you want why wouldn't you do that regardless of what Verizon does or doesn't do?

Unfortunately, the (evidently indefinitely?) delay on this phone has resulted in a number of Verizon Wireless customers leaving for other carriers.

I'm considering it, myself.  I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for more than 10 years, and have never really been disappointed by the service until now.  I've wanted a phone like this ever since Samsung started demoing the idea last year, but performance matters, too, and at this point, some of us are starting to wonder whether Verizon will get this phone out just in time for it to be a generation behind--or worse, whether Verizon actually intends to release it.  It will certainly be harder to justify paying a non-discounted price for a phone that was cutting edge when other carriers released it significantly before Verizon.

Pretty disappointing.

Yes all 5 of you have left. How will Verizon survive?

Even a cursory search would have shown you far more than "5" people unhappy about this.  And I'm pretty sure that for every person who has gotten on a forum to announce they switched to a different carrier because of it, there are quite a few more who never said a word.

I'm not quite sure why it's important to you to downplay the fact that longtime customers are leaving, or thinking about leaving, over this issue.  Overall, I've been happy with Verizon, especially the coverage, but this issue has me rethinking things.  But to each their own.  I'm quite sure Verizon can make their business decisions without your help--as can customers (happy or unhappy as the case may be).

Sorry but people leave Verizon for a number of reasons and I would put not having the Note Edge WAY WAY down the list. A lot more people leave Verizon over not having unlimited data. I don't see Verizon offering unlimited data just to keep those people. It's a $950 phone. How many people are in the market for that? Most people will be patient and wait or get another phone.
