Since Wed May 1st the tethering on my phone is not working right, when surfing the net on my laptop the web browser stops working, The weird thing is i had a ping going to google.com and the ping still works but i can't load any pages in the browser, the ping also works on other addresses telling me its not a DNS issue,
this affects both my(droid bionic) and my wife's phone (GS3), we are on a grandfathered unlimited plan and we both pay the $30 month for tethering on our phones. is does not matter if its USB or wifi hotspot both have same issue.
The only way to fix the issue is turn off data and turn it back on and it will work fine for -1-15 minutes.
also when this happens the browser on the phone does not work (cant surf) and the wife says her streaming music also stopped working (google and pandora) even when not teathered
any body ? still having this issue have rebooted both phone and did everything to try and reset
Are you getting normal data connectivity on the phones when they're not tethered to the laptop? You mentioned that the browser doesn't work and your wife's streaming stops. That suggests (to me, without a lot of technical knowledge) some kind of data connectivity issue. Can you, for instance, go on Google maps or send or receive e-mail? These also depend on data connections. Does the 4G or 3G logo show on the status bars on the phones?
correct the 4g icon shows it's there and your can ping but high layer traffic does not pass............... the mail and maps will so no connection,.... but its really odd that i can ping
