UML295 aircard and windows 8.1

Hello I have a UML295 Modem to access the internet, but when i attach it to my laptop with windows 8.1 it does not recognize it as a network device but as a CDROM drive. It says it is plug and play and is suppose to install the correct drivers. Im lost on trying to figure it out, I cannot hook into the internet. Can someone help Please and thanks.

Let’s get to the bottom of this not working with your laptop.  When did this first start?  Are there any changes that were done around the time this started?  Does this device work with other laptops/computers?
