Two Droid Eris, Two Bricks

I bought the Eris and within the 30 day warranty it bricked on me.  They sent me a replacement without telling me I had an option for a new one within 30 days.

Within two weeks of receiving the replacement IT bricked.  Now they tell me that I have to accept another replacement because I activated the first replacement which means I accepted the contract to take a replacement instead of a new phone.  Since I am only eligible to receive a new phone within the first 30 days and I "accepted" a replacement instead I cannot have a new phone.   This might sound petty on my part but...I PAID $100 for a NEW phone that has never worked...I deserve a new phone.

Don't get an Eris...if it breaks Verizon doesn't have your back.

Using the term "bricked" only suggests that you were trying to root your phone. In the even that you were, then we couldn't help you. As it seems, though, you weren't trying to and my best suggestion is to call customer service, and to kindly let them know about what occured. This happened to me on my T-Mobile line, and after four faulty G1's I recieved a free myTouch when they first came out.

Nope. Bricked means (to me) that it won't hold a charge and won't boot up.  No alterations whatsoever.   Sorry if I confused terms.....

Try leaving the charger in, for a while before trying to turn the phone back on. That's pretty normal for some phones.

By "New phone" I believe they are referring to "different model", not meaning that your replacement phone was not actually a "new" one (as in refurbished/repaired)  I think it is the policy of VZW to send a "New" phone as a "replacement" (and in not refurbished) during the first 30 days, although at that time you should have had the option to get a new phone of a "different model" if you had chosen to do so.
