Travelling in Canada

Member

I am travelling in Canada from the United States.  I want to turn off roaming/celluar data, but I want to be able to connect through local wifi without getting charged extra.  Is this possible?

zideaj,

I hope you have a wonderful time in Canada. The best way to avoid roaming data charges is to turn off your cellular data. With cellular data off you can still connect to Wifi and use the free Wifi to avoid data charges. Keep in mind though there are charges for calling while in Canada. The cost calling while in Canada is $0.89 per minute. Text messaging is considered domestic so there is no charge though. Check out global details here... http://vz.to/1jOzh5I
