They know it works... These apps take matter of hours to test. They already know it works. The 5.1 fixes has no relation and has no potential to break apps like going from 4.4.X(Dalvik) going to 5.X(ART). Now since all these 5.X updates are pushed out they know it works. Closest to the Turbo is the Moto X(2014) they have exactly the same software and "Verizon app". Motorola went on record they are dropping 5.0 in favor of 5.1. That all that matters to me.

That generally means sales of the device has met it's break even point and sales have died down. So they lowered the price. Standard business practice.

I wish they hadn't done that. Those of us thinking about selling our Turbos will have to drop our prices too.

It could be that Verizon/VZW has a bunch of Turbos just laying around. It could be EOL (end of life), even though it's only been out since Oct of 2014.

The 5.1 update was sent out by Google on March 9, 2015. Now, i'll be the first one to say that it doesn't take that long to test a single increment. When it came to 5.0 that's a different story. 5.0 was a major OS overhaul. So i was more than willing to wait for LG and VZW to test it thoroughly before sending out the OTA.

It is not as simple as test and release to the masses. First LG needs to test what they get. Then add their own stuff on top of it for the LG user experience. Then after that they need to add the Verizon Software (Bloatware) and test with that. Then they release to a sample group for UAT and then to Verizon to test. After that point it is up to Verizon to schedule the release to the devices. This process can take 2 months to 6 months if things go smoothly with everything.
