Switching phones within the 14-day time period.

I got a Samsung Galaxy a week ago, and I've been having issues with it ever since.  I've been having problems with text messaging between iPhone users--I owned an iPhone previously to this.  I turned off iMessage on my MacBook and my iPhone, and I also turned off iCloud on both.  The worker at Verizon said that's all I should have to do; however, iPhone users still aren't able to send me texts without resending them in a different format only if they're aware that they need to do so.  To eliminate this inconvenience I decided I would go back to an iPhone since my upgrade is still within the 14 days.  Earlier today, my friend dropped my phone and the very bottom of the phone cracked.  I assume I won't be able to exchange my phone now that the device is "damaged."  Has anyone had this problem before, or know if they can still do anything about switching out phones?S

Physical damage is not covered unless you have the supplement Asurion insurance.

Verizon will not take a broken phone. You will have to pay full price for the iPhone ( or have the person who dropped your phone pay you) or buy second hand at http://www.swappa.com

Good Luck

You won't be able to use the 14 day return as your phone is broken and VZW don't take broken phones.  You own that phone as said above by "Elector".  Your only choice are as "Elector" stated.  Really sorry to hear about your phone,  The phone can't even be switched for a refurbished phone as when they get your phone back they will inspect it and charge your bill for the refurbished phone.

akliewer, we don't want this text messaging issue to be ongoing for you. The issue is that your mobile number is still programmed in iPhone users' contacts as an iPhone mobile number. Your friends and family will need to delete your contact from device and reset the network settings in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network. If the issue continues, you will need to contact Apple Support http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/

A cracked screen is unfortunate. You have 14 days to return/exchange your device for any reason. However, I apologize that you will be unable to return it at this time since it has physical damage. Do you have insurance? https://totalmobileprotection.verizonwireless.com/
