Stylus That Works

Could anyone tell me if they have found a stylus to work on the motorola droid phone?  I won't be using it all the time but there are times that I would like to have one with me.  I have tried a couple that are just laying around the houe but they didn't work.  One was from a palm pda and the other was from my sons Nintendo DS.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think the Droid has a capacitive screen, meaning you need to touch the screen with your skin to get it to work. There is a long technical explanation, but screens like the ones on the Droid and the iPhone use the "electricity" in your skin to indicate where the screen was touched. Therefore, a stylus will not work.

Your wrong about the iPhone at least, as you can purchase a capacitive screen stylus for it.

Whether they'll work on a Droid, I wouldn't know.

I don't see why it wouldn't work... the iPhone doesn't use anything special... capacitive touch is capacitive touch for the most part.

I wonder if bestbuy has one of the capacitive pens.. I like the idea of having one... just saying!

Well a capacitive touchscreen is yes, a capacitive touchscreen. However, I think I read somewhere that the iPhone uses heat sensitivity. That's why you can touch the iPhone with the slightest touch and it respond.

It's the same.

If you read the write up on the items, its says iPhone, iTouch and other capacitive touchscreens. They just market iPhone because of the popularity. Most buyers have no clue what  "capacitive touch means"

Dell has one in China.  Apparently in China it is a status symbol to have a stylus.  So Dell shipped a capacitive touch stylus with the 3i.  So they are out there somewhere and if I had thought about it I might have gone with the Eris cause that was the big problem my fingers are too big for the screen.  By the way I am loving the droid even the virtual keypad for small jobs like searches and stuff.

You might check these out:

Pogo iPhone Stylus - Designed for the iPhone, works for capacitive touch.

Pogo Sketch iPhone/MacBook Stylus - Longer, thinner version of the original.

The site (Think Geek) has some other really neat accessories, among other things. Stumbled accross these while Christmas shopping for my sister, an iPhone user.

Hope this helps!
