Anyone know how to remove your own picture that is now attached to all text messages?  Since the software update (assume KitKat) my LinkedIn photo is now attached to all my text messages and I never set that up, nor can I figure out how to remove it!

How do I remove my photo from my text messages?  Android RazrM.

Help!  It is driving me crazy.  Thank you.

I am surprised that Verizon could not figure this out...it is Google; the same photo I had used on LinkedIn was also on Google. After I deleted the LinkedIn app from my phone the photo was still there in text messages so I did further research.

With the KitKat upgrade Google is going for full ownership of each individual on the platform. I could not delete the photo, Google+ would not allow it; I was astonished so I just deleted Google+....goodbye to them.

Is it actually attched?  Are other people seeing it when you send them a message, or is it only showing on your phone?

Other people are seeing it when I send a message, and that is what bothers me.  It is not necessary!  Any clue?  Thanks for responding.

Which Android phone do you have, each one attacks messaging in their own way.  Are you using an app like Handcent or the default app that came with the phone?

I want to help your app run the way you want it cazzie49! I recommend clearing the cache on the app itself. Here is a link to assist. http://vz.to/1n6P4PB

Thanks, but this information was not useful. First it was outdated (2012 and the software is 2013/2104) in the Settings/Apps/All section there was no "Text Messaging" icon. Under "Phone/Messaging" the clear cache was not possible, it was not available, an active option.

VERIZON/GOOGLE - I am still hoping to learn how to remove my photo from my text messages - why is this so difficult? Why is something like this added without my permission or at my request? May be a reason to jump ship to iOS.

cazzie49,

What type of device do you have? Do you have your LinkedIn on your device? When you look at your applications and your Gmail do you see that your Gmail is syncing your LinkedIn contacts too?
