Service Help Bleeding Money

I know I should have another number or device. I buy and sell things and get calls from all over the country daily. The last few weeks I noticed less and less traffic on my phone..

My phone doesn't accept calls from out of my are code. They MAY ring half a ring or NO RING at all. Sometime straight to mail, some time it doesn't even say missed call in the call log.

I can't have this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Customer Service of course swears they never heard of such a thing. They give me resets and say they will call back but since it's not my area code I DON"T GET THE CALL. Then I have to start all over again with a new tech who says to do the same thing!

Any suggestions.

If this doesn't get taken care of by tomorrow I will be forced to CHANGE CARRIERS at someone else's expense..

Threatening won't get your problem fixed quicker.

Give them another number to call you at.

I have never heard of something like that, so I doubt the customer service or tech reps are lying to you, if they knew what the problem was I'm sure they would fix it.

It's no threat I can't have this! I will have no choice. I sell everything from machinery to land, some is even auctioned and needs a fast reply.

I just looked on my bill of incoming calls and I have only received 4 calls outside my area in 4 days. Problem being I get calls from folks at businesses and a generic number comes up so if I redial back it goes no where.or to a general box and don't know who called.

If you have had your phone less than a year, you should be able to have it replaced under warranty at no cost to you.  If you have had it over a year, you're SOL and probably need to purchase a new phone.  I would start by doing a factory reset first.

Here is a better idea. Get a Magic Jack+  have them call that number and it has better voice mail and is cheaper than using a defective device. you could even forward your cell calls to it and this way you won't miss any calls. Magic Jack sends the voice mail to any email address you like as well. I love the device.

If you don't get the immediate help, find someone with a vzw phone lying around and swap it out for yours until you can get the issue resolved.  at least you will get your calls.

Update

It isn't as bad as it was but still does it about 50% of the time. They had me hit or call all type of numbers.

I have just talked to a gentleman 700 miles from here who is having the same problem with his verizon service, not the same phone though. He is a GM of a group of stores covering three states, he said they told him it is a network thing. He also told them he can't live with this service and they just said it's being worked on. I'm sure this is just one of their answers they are told to give though.

I wonder if me sending my payment in 50% of the times they would feel the same way.  Oh I have never even been late with a cell payment in my life so expect the same service.

Doing the 50% pay bill thing would result in your service being suspended till the bill is caught up.  They do have the upper hand in that.

I tried to edit my post above but couldn't.  I suggest to do it the way electory above suggest but make sure you can get a Magic Jack number in your same area code or it would probably do little good for you.

With my magic jack when I bought the original no numbers were local. I ended up with a NY Long Island area code.

Since long distance is included in cell plans it worked out pretty good. My mother in law when we bought her a Magic Jack had a local number and area code.
