Just upgraded to 2.1 on my HTC Eris. When I bring up a contact it now shows a "Send Message" option for all phone numbers even those that are land lines. Is there a way to remove this option without removing that number from the contact?

Unfortunately there is no possible way to remove that option because it automatically now will be placed under each contact on your phone. Your phone was programmed to do this when you received the update on your device.
