What in the world is causing my Samsung Galaxy Note II to come on & go off randomly?? It's driving me crazy, draws attention to the phone & is eating my battery life. I've had the phone over a year & it hadn't done it until the update yesterday. I don't use the WiFi scanner or Bluetooth.
Help please!

ObiChi1214,
Thank you for the clarification. We want to get that working for you! You stated that it works in safemode. That would point us in the direction of third party apps that have been downloaded to the device. The factory reset would fix that problem but maybe I can save you the hassle. Do you recall when this first started happening? Had you downloaded a new app around that time? If you recall a specific app try uninstalling the app.
If not you can go to settings and select Application Manager. Select "Downloaded" up on top and this gives you a list of apps downloaded to your phone. You may find it easier to uninstall the apps rather than going through a backup, factory reset and setting up your phone over again.
Hope you find that helpful,

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you are experiencing with your Samsung Note 2 ObiChi1214. Allow us to get to the bottom of the unwanted flash.
To remove the flash notification tap on Settings > Accessibility > Flash notification>Disable. When the device powers off are you accessing a certain application? Have you tried running the device on safe mode? If not, we recommend running the device on safe mode and test to see if your device still powers off on its own. To run your phone on safe mode click, http://vz.to/1gVLiBb
Thank You,

I appreciate the response Michelle but it's the screen instead of the
notification light. It works on safe mode. Still trying to figure it out
but I may need to backup & reboot.

Michelle L & Brian P - while waiting for online assistance I called into
Verizon & was told to do a backup, then a restore. Unfortunately I restored
to the factory settings before I tried your method. After the restore - no
problem. I used a backup restore app & put everything back on at the same
time. Of course the problem reoccurred.
Since they were all now newly "downloaded" - I then proceeded to take them
off, backwards, one at a time based on my memory of how I originally put
them on. I uninstalled an app, turned the screen off & waited about 5
minutes to see if the screen would come on by itself. When it did, on to
the next app. FINALLY I uninstalled one & after 10 minutes the screen
didn't come back on. I wish I had waited for your option prior to restore.
Please let the phone reps know about this option.
Thank you very much!!

Just out of curiosity, and for the benefit of others who may read this in the future - which app was the one causing the trouble?

As far as I can tell it was Glassdoor. I'm not sure if something attached
itself to the app itself or if it was in one of the job links used during a
search.

**Update** It was Noom Walk that caused the screen to come on & go off. I've also let them know on their "Rate" area. I've reinstalled Glassdoor & haven't had the issue any longer. thanks again for your assistance!
