Open your Settings, go to Language and Keyboard, then User Dictionary. It should list all your personal words. Long-press on it, and you will get the option to delete the word.

It is currently not possible to edit the user dictionary on the HTC Eris, since the Eris is still running Android 1.5, and the user dictionary access seems to be a feature of 1.6 or 2.0+. Only the Droid can currently edit the user dictionary and whatnot.

That is true... where they said to go didn't exist on the Eris -- so guess I'll be waiting until the upgrade!

When you're typing on the Eris, it'll show an array of boxes for corrections, one of the boxes, the first one being what you're currently typing.
Longpress that box, then one with your text and it'll automatically be saved.

Yah but I think the problem is we want to delete words that were saved, not that we have a problem with adding words... and on the Eris there is no way that I know of to review the added words
