Samsung Stratosphere Charging Problem

I've had my samsung stratosphere since June and just last week it's been acting weird, my phone goes crazy when it's plugged in. It'll vibrate constantly because it'll be charging then a second later it isn't. It's back and forth, I've tried another charger and still the same result. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm also having this problem. And it's not my charger because my friends can plug their phones in and have them charge without a problem.

Yeah. Send it in for warranty. Backup all your data, and do a factory reset before you call. Saves you time with Tech Support....  We have had 3 of the Stratospheres on our plan for close to a year. These are by far, THE WORST phones I have had to deal with. I can not honestly say how many we have sent in for replacement. Charging issues. Data and service issues (2 phones sitting next to each other-One would have 4g, and the other; nothing....). OH YEAH, I don't want to forget about the replacement one I JUST GOT 3 weeks ago. I sat it on the table (very gently) for the night. In the morning, the screen is internally cracked. Not on the outside, the inside; and has now turned all black. I am single. No dogs or cats. No kids here. I already know that when I call Tech Support, it will be because of something I did wrong; and not the fact that it is a VERY crappy phone....    OH WAIT!!!    It just hit me! It must have been one of the damn ghosts that I have running around here at night. One of them cracked the screen. Guess I'll just pay Asurion ANOTHER 100.00, and skip Tech Suport.....

  ANYWAYS, do yourself a favor, and beg/plead your way into something other than a Stratosphere.....

Have you shut the off Device and charged it with any better Results) give that a Try and try a Soft Reset here is the Instructions for that

Soft Reset - Stratosphere™ by Samsung

Note A soft reset is the most useful tool for resolving a variety of issues. In most cases, a soft reset will not affect data on the device, unless the battery is very low.

Note If unable to perform a soft reset, remove then re-insert the battery. Refer to Battery Inserting / Removing for assistance.

  1. Long press the Power button.
  2. Select Restart.

I did that with the last 2 Stratospheres that I had, and it didn't do anything. Tech Support just ended up sending me a new phone. But every phone is the same, it works for a month or so and then it starts having this issue again.

I am on my 3rd piece of junk Stratosphere.  Verizon tells me "there are no issues reported"...BS.  I have a friend that lives in the same very small town as I do and she is also on her 3rd Stratosphere.  I have begged and pleased with Verizon to let me get a different phone rather than send me another one that I will be sending back in a month.  I have asked for them to let me do an early upgrade...they won't give an inch.  I am at the point that I am thinking of cancelling my service with Verizon altogether.  And I wrote an email to Samsung telling that what a piece of crap this phone was.  I'm sure nothing will come of that either...but it was good to vent.  Whatever happened to customer satisfaction???

Call samsung and see what they can offer you. Verizon sells cell phone service not phones.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying here....Verizon sells phones to go along with the service.  However, I did call Samsung and got nothing from them either.  The customer support tech I spoke too could only tell me to go to the Samsung site and email them with my concerns, which I did and told them after the ordeal and hassles I have gone through over this phone, I will never buy another Samsung product of any kind.

Most of the Time when you Talk to Reps at the Manufactures if there Not in the States you can't understand them to Save your Soul and then Again if talk to one's in the States all they want to do is refer you back to Verizon, Bottom line the only one's Manufactures will really talk to on issues is the Verizon's them selves that is to get an issue solved and i seen this with H.T.C. when my Incredible and other Incredible's were having Connecting issues, I called H.T.C many times and was told there not seeing the issue and it must be Verizon i went through Three Incredible's and on the 4th one i said Enough is Enough i Got a Tear 3 Tech out of Little Rock on it and between him and his Coworkers and Me An Two evening on the phone at 4 Hours each we found it was a Soft Wear issue) He Trouble ticked it to H.T.C and in about week H.T.C sent out a update over the Air and the Issue was Solved. And he called me back and Thanked me personally for staying Diligent on the Matter. All i wanted out of the Deal was my Phone to Work as i loved my Inc. as much as do my Maxx's and H.T.C just wanted to snub it off that was till forces that worked together got it Done...  b33
