My 80+ in-laws use these phones (we couldn't find one with an old dial rotator) and they have never accessed their voice mail. Now the mail boxes are full and we need the password to get in. I called support and they said to use 1+xxxx(the last four digits of the cell number) but that didn't work. Does anyone out there know the solution? My mother-in-law is trying to be patient, but she could turn on me any day now!

My password for voicemail is a 4-digit number - try the last 4 of the phone number instead of 1+ the number. If they are receiving voicemail then it has been set up, either by them or by Verizon; normally it is set up by the user. What happens when you dial *86? Does it ask for a password or go through a setup process?

Thanks for the response, Suzy.
We did go thru the setup process a couple of years ago but they forgot the passwords. I’ll try just the last four when I talk to Betty later.

Usually cutomer service can reset the voicemail passcode after you verify the account. Have you spoken with customer service?

They can be reset from the MY Verizon account online if one is set up.

Let's keep you safe, Mchabot! I wouldn't want your mother in law turning on you. I'll work on getting this resolved as soon as possible. We have a few ways to reset the voice mail password. I have provided a link here to assist with the reset: http://vz.to/157Sqr6
