Just got a new Galaxy S5 and the camera is awful. The image is grainy and then when I take the picture, the pictures are grainy, blurry or out of focus. I previously had the Galaxy S3 and it took amazing pictures. Is there a setting I need to learn or is my camera defected? This happened to me a few years ago with my new iPad that my camera was defected and every picture was grainy.

It wouldn't hurt to take the phone to a store with working demo models and do A-B comparisons against the phones. If yours comes out significantly worse, get the device swapped.

We want you to get top notch pictures with your phone PWoo3315! When didi these picture issues start? Are all pictures grainy? What picture application are you using? Do get the same results with all applications (instagram, twitter, facebook, etc.)? Are you using any ZOOM when taking pictures? What is your software version?

Hi,
The phone is brand new yesterday and the issues were right away when I was
taking 'test' pictures inside my apartment. There was no zoom being used.
The software has been upgraded to Lollipop and I'm using the regular camera
app standard with the phone. Snap chat camera pictures also were grainy
and the front facing camera is even granier. I used to have the S3 and it
took amazing pictures.

Where the Galaxy S5 is brand new. Check to see if the clear sticker strip has been removed from the back of the S5 camera.
