Does galaxy s3  work in Korea for free wifi access without purchasing data plan ?

I don't want to buy any additional plan. I am staying there for just few days.

Yes. Any phone with Wi-Fi can use Wi-Fi even with the device in Airplane mode. The same can be said for any device lacking service. Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi.
