Samsung Continuum

I bought my continuum about a year ago and everything was going fine until today.  When i plug in the charger it won't charge.  I tried different chargers and they didn't work either.  I know my charger works because it'll charge my roommate's phone.  I'm guessing the problem is with the connection on the phone itself but I can't see anything wrong.  Any ideas on solutions would be greatly appreciated.

It could be just a battery.  I had a Continuum that was draining the battery very fast and wouldn't charge all the way.  It was still under warranty, so they replaced it.  They told me they expect the batteries to last about 1 year, because you are recharging them so often.  I'd go to your local store and ask service to look at it, or call CS.

It could be the charger port in your phone. Sometimes they get lose or malfunction in a way that wont allow it to get a good connection on the charger.

also, if it was "about" a year ago, then i would look into a replacement immediately (you have a one year warranty).

I'm having a similar problem, but it started AFTER 1 year. I have even purchased a new battery, and I still find that plugging the phone in to recharge the battery often does no good. Even though the little message near the top of my Home Page says "Charging (27%)," for example, the battery continues to DISCHARGE. The next time I look, after an hour or so, it might read "Charging (11%). This is very frustrating.

Did you ever find resolution to the similar problem that you were experiencing?

Good morning and happy Thursday MinnDakota,

The Samsung Continuum is an amazing device with a huge array of features. All of which you will be able to enjoy once we get this battery/charging issue resolved. I am here to partner with you and customize a solution. You stated that you purchased a new battery, which is good. May I ask are you using the original charger that came with the device? If so then try using another charger to test the connectivity. Also, please verify that there isn't any corrosion or debris on the charging port. If the issue still persist then please reply with your findings as more troubleshooting may be needed.

Thank you...

Arnett,

I have already been through all of this with Samsung Customer Service.

As I have

already sent my phone to Texas for repair, there doesn't seem to be a point

to provide responses to your questions. Right?

What I am looking to do, at present, is continue service to my phone number

using another device. I have borrowed a flip phone from a

friend. It is charging, as I write this. Once it is fully charged, I will

be contacting Verizon Customer Service to see how to use this devise to

continue my service while my Continuum is being repaired.

Does this make sense?

Do you charge it while the phone is off? I would try that, and pull the battery about once a week.

Did you read my last message?

I have sent my Continuum to Samsung for repair, so I cannot charge the

battery with the device "on" or "off." I have no battery to pull, as it is

in Texas (at Samsung), along with the phone.

You make no comment regarding the use of an alternative device while

my Continuum

is in for repair. I asked whether my plan for continued service in the

interim makes sense.
