SAMSUNG GALAXY LOLLIPOP UPDATE NOTE
Do to the multiple ongoing problems with the original Lollipop 5.0 version S5 update, certain software program changes have been made by some major carriers, Verizon is one I've been told. Forced auto install of version 5.0 release 2 of Lollipop will not take place, it can be deferred. It will however continue to alert and display in the notification panel, simply tap and skip the software update. Do not tap ON UPDATE unless you desire to install. While it’s a known fact that release number 2 WILL NOT solve the many problems that came with the first 5.0 release, it does address some issues. Two main issue are the memory leak and battery usage problem that were included in the first 5.0 version. While not fully corrected there has been slight improvement made in this second release. All S5 user that installed the first 5.0 Lollipop update must wait for Lollipop version 5.1.0 update to regain more normal use of their S5 phone again. There has been NO official word or date given for a 5.1 update by Verizon, Samsung or Google. BOC4 is the latest current update release to Galaxy S5 users.

Too funny lol this continues to get crazier and crazier. Some are actually reporting the software is working fine.
Wish Verizon would set up another section of the forum to deal with the Lollipop saga. It is so annoying.

In truth it would have been better if this "so call update" had never been released. Yes it is true to a degree that it appears to work better in certain installs and phones but it's more smoke and mirrors, the base code is bad.

I'm going into Verizon store tonight. Either phone will be fixed or Verizon will be fired. New phone service will be had by new carrier. And maybe it's just time, I have been with them since 2000 >, 15+ years maybe all it takes to say Good Bye.
This Sucks!!!!

Imorarvick, that would be a complete waste of time. Verizon store is out to sell not listen to complaints, courts are. If you are currently under a contract with Verizon then print the page Galaxy Class wrote, he or she, opened the door, and is out to sink Verizon for some reason. So print the page along with other post here, specifically coming from Verizon on this issue. Then have your contract and go to your local court. It will cost $60 dollars for the court to request Verizon to show up at a hearing with you. And you will win big time. If you break a Verizon contract so I read they charge $350. If you're not in a contract then you don't have a complaint and your post here is moot.

All true except for the fact that nothing in the contract says Verizon needs to make your phone work

BOC4 solved a few things and made a few things worse. The battery (the biggest problem overall) is still horrific (I installed BOC4 about two weeks ago.) Occasionally now, the whole phone just freezes and has to reboot itself. That's happened three times since this latest update. The lagging issues are mostly better though some widgets still randomly disappear (Google Play Books) and don't come back until a reboot. Overall this Lollipop implementation has been an epic disaster and someone needs to get this crap figured out before we all switch carriers.

I wonder when this question will start popping up?
When will Macaroon, Marshmallow, Meringue, Milkshake (probably one of these) be available on Verizon.

Wait! We would never want to see you go. Thanks for your hard work in an effort to resolve your issues. Software updates should improve the device, sorry to hear that this not occurring. Did you complete a Hard Reset on the device after the software update? If so did the issue start immediately after the update or onve the applications reinstalled?
