I want to make sure you have a much better experience with this S5. I would recommend on taking the device to a corporate store location: http://bit.ly/3SdsA so that way we can get the sim card replaced for free. Once you get the new sim card in the device then please re-test the network.

Have you tried Settings>More networks>Mobile networks>Network Modes>Global>LTE/CDMA?
