S4 Backup Assistant Plus Fail

Love my new S4, but the Backup Assistant Plus feature constantly tries to sync my contacts and always gives me the error message, "Lost network connection" even though I'm connected to a network.  I wish I could disable the feature, I can't seem to turn it off and it's draining my battery because it's always trying to sync, and always failing.  For what it's worth, I've had problems with Backup Assistant in the past.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It might be better to stop using Backup Assistant altogether.

Export the contacts out of BUA and import them into your main Gmail account. Happy syncing!

I'm already using my Gmail account to provide my contacts.  How do I export contacts out of Backup Assistant Plus?  Thank you very much.
