In transferring photos and contacts muc is missing. I thought this was on the sim chip in this older droid with a key pad. Is the lost data in the dead phone and can it be retrieved ala a crashed hard drive?

Ann154, you're right. The SIM card connects that device to our network. However, if the device has expandable memory capability, then one can retrieve files from the memory card. Some wireless devices are designed to configure and save photos/files automatically to the SD memory card. The SIM card wouldn't have any pictures on it. Were you referring to the SD card? Some phones have an internal memory space where photos can be stored.
