Recent upgrade was a bad decision!

Ever since I updated my Galaxy S3, my phone randomly restarts itself, locks up sometimes when I use the camera, doesn't record video even though it shows it is (I didn't get part of my son's preschool graduation b/c of that!!), it runs really slow, and the battery drains quickly now.  Is there anyway to un-upgrade??  Very frustrated and disappointed!!

I have been there, and there is no way to undo an upgrade...at least without voiding your warranty. Your best bet is performing a factory reset, which is what I tend to do after each update but I have read in other threads people are having similar issues. I would try and do a factory reset since Verizon would make you do that anyway as a last step before possibly replacing it. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the reply.  If I perform a factory reset, won't that clear my phone of everything.  I was told I would lose contacts, pictures...everything.

Potentially yes, but there are several tools to back those all up. I use Gmail to back up all my contacts, if you have an sd card in your phone you can put all your pics and media on there, or use the free Cloud storage Verizon offers. I have not utilized that option yet, but it is supposed to be pretty easy (I use Google Drive) Verizon also offers back up assistant for contacts as well.

Now my phone says I’m running out of storage space. I have nothing different on my phone than I had BEFORE this upgrade. I’ve deleted quite a few apps and over 100 pics, and I’ve moved some things to Google Drive. Now, after doing all of that, it tells me I have zero storage – and before I moved or deleted things I had almost 200 mb of storage. How can it go zero after I removed things??? This phone has become absolutely useless!!!

I have moved all of my pics and videos to Google Drive, and that seemed to help with the storage issue. And I just cleared the memory and restarted as VanessaS_VZW suggested.  We'll see...

Glad to hear it's running better now BestHR. Should the difficulties return, please try running in safe mode for a full day as Ada recommended.

Someone suggested you back up to an SD card.

If you do this, DO NOT leave the card in your phone.  A lot of people with Samsung are getting their SD cards fried by updates, so your data will NOT be secure.  I just had this happen to me.
