Razr Maxx got wet, cannot get to boot menu

At one point I could see the various boot options, but while I was searching the internet for what choice to make it disappeared.  I've charged the phone 10 minutes or so, held the volume down and power button, and now I can get to the Motorola symbol (red circle, white M) but I can't get to the boot menu.  I also tried holding down both the volume up and down buttons and the power button; still cannot access boot menu.  I'd like to think the Maxx is recoverable since it is at least powering on; it was only in the water less than 10 seconds (maybe only 5).  Any ideas?

Thought there might be a low battery issue, so plugged it in.  I just saw my homescreen, but now have the message "unfortunately the process com.motorola.vzw.vmm has stopped" (which I get every time I restart the phone, and have gotten since I bought the phone.)  My touchscreen is not working; I cannot change screens or dismiss the message.  Guess I'll just let it sit and charge a while longer.  I saw on the mainscreen it was charged at 10% only.

Is the phone completely dry now? When did it get wet and how wet did it get? You can dry the phone out faster by filling a container with Rice and putting the phone in the middle of the rice and then let it sit 24 or so hours. the rice will pull all of the water out of places you don't even know exists.

No doubt by now it is dry, it fell in the commode - ughh!  I have since charged the phone up all the way then tried to enter the bootloader... but I cannot access it by holding up/down volume together and the power button.  It occasionally goes to my homescreen, but the touchscreen doesn't work and I cannot unlock it.  I've decided it's bricked.  The S5 comes out on Monday, so looks like I'll be upgrading even though I wasn't planning on it.  I thought about getting a Droid Maxx, but the S5 quad core and camera are pretty darn enticing; and I understand a larger battery is available to give longer, uninterrupted time to the S5.  Sigh... I really liked by Razr Maxx; it was a great phone.  RIP.

The Samsung S5 is a really nice phone.  Don't know if you have to pay the full price for it or not as your Razr MAXX may or may not be off contract but should be getting very close if not.  If you have to pay full price for it will be somewhat expensive.  I did not know about the larger battery available for the S5.  My understanding was that it comes with a somewhat larger battery than the S4 comes with plus it moisture and dust RESISTANT.  My only issue right now with the S5 is VZW only sells this phone with 16 gb of internal memory and will accept up to a 128 gb SD card.  I want a phone with 32 gb or better of INTERNAL memory with the up to 128 gb SD card.  I need the 128 gb SD for all my music and photos I have plus the future photos.  My present phone is the S4 with 32 gb internal memory and before was an S3 with 32 gb memory internal.  I do hope VZW comes up with the S5 32 gb internal memory and a larger removable battery than what comes with it would be really nice.  I had to wait about 6 weeks after the S4 was released in the 16 gb model for them to get the S4 32 gb which they sold online.  I hope it will be something similar this time for the S5.  If they don't I will have to go for the Samsung Note 4 coming later this year and that is just a larger screen phone than I really want, but will deal with that as the S5 is somewhat larger than the S4 and the S4 is larger than the S3 was for me.  Good luck with your new phone.  Next time you drop your phone in the water, don't try to turn it on or charge it until you put it in white rice for at least a period of 48 hours or more then plug it in and try to turn it on to see what happens.  I hope you don't have that experience again though.
