Razor M won't display usb icon

My Motorola Droid Razr M will not display the usb icon when I hook it up to either my pc or my Apple so that I can switch it to usb mass storage?  HELP!!!

Give this a Try shut down your Device re-power it up and then Try connecting.. see if will connect

Ok, I've shut it down and re-powered it up.  CROSS YOUR FINGERS . . . . . . .
