Phone worked fine. Used it with headphones. Now no external sound at all on phone. Please help.

First and foremost, have you turned the phone off, then on? Have you tried plugging the headphones in again, and removing them? This may happen as the phone still believes the headphones are plugged in, and won't properly route sound through the external speaker. If neither of the two options work, you may want to speak with Verizon about a possible warranty issue if the handset is still within the first year of purchase (Device Replacement Program | Verizon Wireless) or file an insurance claim (Calling Features: Total Equipment Coverage | Verizon Wireless), if available.
Yes tried both of your suggests so guess we will call verizon Phone is only a month old.
