I am in Utah and have been struggling with reception on my Note 3 phone almost since the beginning. I haven't had it quite a year yet. I go camping quite a bit and everyone - yes, EVERYONE - has service before I get it or longer or more continually. It's running Android version 4.4.2 at this point. I'm constantly restarting or taking the battery out and blowing in it to try and fix it. I don't know if it's worth going to a Verizon store and standing in line for hours just to have them tell me to live with it.
I will go to send text messages and will get the no signal notice. I will not get calls and then get a voice mail. Everything is random, too. I've tried to read some of these posts but am not sure exactly what to plan on doing.

I'm sorry to learn of the service issues you are experiencing justme56! Let's take a look at this issues! What is the trouble ZIP code? I understand that you have removed battery as part of troubleshooting, in the mean time lets reset the connection to the network and test: power off>remove SIM card for one minute>insert SIM card>power on.

Why is it that in every single post that I read on this issue the exact same answer is given?
It is not the phone! It is not the SIM card and has nothing to do with removing batteries or anything like that!
The problem is the update! IT IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE!!!
It's like every VZW associate is reading from the same pre-written answer list.
I have even seen one answer that wanted you to remove your cover and try again. Seriously?
Mine is in an OtterBox like so many of us because I'm too afraid to drop it and damage it.
Has anyone ever tried to take that out of an OtterBox cover, make a call and put it back in? Really?
As I have read in one of the posts, there is some conversation going on between Verizon and Samsung to solve this issue.
Please, do not give us these "solutions" where you ask us for zip-codes, resetting network connections, pulling batteries or even changing SIM cards. ( the worst one actually was a comment about changing your phone to a refurbished one...yeah...really??)
What we all need ( and deserve for the money we're paying) is a quality response, good service and at least an honest answer like:"sorry, we screwed up with this last update, but we're working on a fix!"
Come on Verizon! We all payed big bucks here!!

For a long time I thought it was just me. Part of me wondered if Verizon had downgraded my service where I lived or maybe Samsung just had a bad product. I have paid to be constantly frustrated. Friends and family are constantly calling me or texting me to no avail and when a text does come through I have to try countless attempts to respond because there's no signal. If I do get a signal it's rarely 4g. And please Verizon...do not give me a boilerplate answer. I'm soaking all this up and submitting complaints to the FTC and FCC this week. This is fraudulent behavior. To act like there's not a problem when clearly you've been alerted for months and to knowingly charge people for service you have been put on notice they are not getting. I'm just counting the clock on when my contract ends so i can switch after 20+ years. I used to boast to all my friends about how reliable your service is....no more...quite the opposite. ..I've had to tell them not to call my cell as I'm likely not to get their call.

Do you use (pay for) caller ID? Some people have found that the caller ID app can have negative effects on 3g/4g data connections and speeds (as well as location detection). Try Force Stopping the Caller ID app, clearing the cache, clearing data, then disabling the caller ID app, and finally shut off your phone for a minute then she if its any better after you've restarted.

Which is the caller ID app? I haven't loaded anything more for phone calls than what Verizon put on my phone. I can look for it but frankly probably wouldn't be familiar with it as I have no reception 60% of time or about 99% of time at home. I receive 0% of incoming calls at home. The phone doesn't even light up. I only find out later when someone's tried to call...the calls don't even appear in my call log.
