You need to give this up and move on.  Big Red has made a business decision that a petition won't change.  You can show your dislike for the decision by going to another carrier with an unlimited data plan.  Oops, there are no other carriers offering unlimited data plans.  Imagine that, Big Red is doing what the competition has been doing for some time.

no.. your wrong.  I am going to Tmobile prepay.  Yes they throttle, but at least it's unlimited.  And I would rather have unlimited throttled then no unlimited. And so they are ALL screwing us over, that makes it OK then?  OK, let me know if you need more cream for your rear end buddy, you must enjoy it.

Still better then having to pay huge overage amounts, which is what you will have to pay if you go over on a family shared plan..

So Verizon is eliminating their unlimited pre-pay as well?

Big Red is not doing exactly what the other carriers have done.  Yes, At&t has eliminated unlimited data, but At&t has not stated that if you upgrade your phone (using a subsidy) then you must relinquish your unlimited data plan.  Sprint and Tmobile (throttled) still offer unlimited data.  So, in actually, Verizon is doing something that the other carriers have not done.

I just experienced this same problem and although there is the loophole of not renewing your contract and doing an Alternate Upgrade, the Verizon retailers will not do the upgrade that way because upper management has been FIRING sales reps for doing that and they have been told no matter what to force everyone to get rid of their unlimited plan. I agree with the first poster and think we should petition and threaten to leave Verizon if they will not give us back our unlimited plan. They are not losing money giving us unlimited data for $30/mo, they are just being greedy and think they can bully us into paying more. We need to tell them they cannot! What kind of morally reprehensible company fires employees during a recession for trying to save their customers money?!?! Evidently Verizon Wireless. I will be happy to sign this petition and send it to everyone I know.
