PIN to unlock my previous phone

Verizon Support - Before upgrading to my Apple iPhone last year,  I had an LG VS920ZV8  4G phone with Android System 4.0.4

I would like to know if you can provide me with a PIN number and instructions to unlock the LG Phone?

Thank you.

Thanks for asking, DeeCT.
To be clear, are you looking for the PUK code http://bit.ly/Q91GmS?
If so, we can retrieve that from an active phone.
4G phones come unlocked to be used on our network or when you are traveling to another country.

Thank you for replying.  It was somewhat helpful.  My phone was on your network last year before I upgraded to a new phone.

I'm unable to see the phone in my account because it is not in use - it's my old phone - inactive.  Is there some way to retrieve the PUK code from this old phone.  It is an LG VS920 4G with Android 4.0.4

DeeCT,

Sorry to see you have trouble with unlocking the PIN. The PIN code, and PUK, are used to unlock a SIM card active on the Verizon Wireless network. In order for you to be able to unlock it on the website it needs to be assigned to an active number. Are you attemping to activate the device on another number? Could you tell us why you were looking to do this so we can best assist?

A friend wanted my LG phone to use but it needed to be unlocked.  I was hoping there would be an easy way of doing this.

DeeCT, ah I see! Would your friend be attempting to activate the device on our network? If so, you would still be able to make the change to that device online, as long as it is not active on another line. Once the device is on an active line we can go online to My Verizon to make the change in devices http://vz.to/10ITLFI. If we can do that the PUK code can be found within your online My Verizon account here http://vz.to/1ni2y65. To be sure, is the device clearly stating that the PUK code is needed or what exactly is it asking for?

The phone is not in use on any network since I upgraded to the Apple 5s.  There is no message asking for a PUK Code.  I do not know what cell company the phone will be used on in the future.  I would like to unlock the phone so it can be used on any compatible network.  This should be possible since I paid for it with a 2 year contract.
