How come Verizon oneplus 8s are not being updated to the latest operating systems?

What does that have to do with anything? We're not talking about connectivity issues here. We're talking about the lack of OS updates in a timely manner as well as the lack of clear communication regarding the status of them. Do you even know basic readin...

I too would like to know since I have the Verizon OnePlus 8 as well. When will Verizon release the update to Android 11? If Verizon doesn't feel they should release the update due to the sales for the Verizon version of the Oneplus 8 sales not being good then Verizon should replace all the OnePlus 8 phones they sold and replace them with new phones of our choice at Verizon's expense. Please don't tell me we have to wait for the manufacture to release the update. That's garbage!

That's garbage. Verizon installed their own update service on the one plus 8 uw. OnePlus has had Android 11 out for quite awhile on the 8 series and now even the 7 series. So again, when will Verizon show some love for the oneplus 8 5G UW that they saw fit to lock down so heavily.

Like I said earlier, acknowledge that you're moving slower. Maybe ask around, see if there's anything about the holdup that can be publicly disclosed.It doesn't improve your employer's image to repeatedly talk past a customer's concerns. We learn more from what you refuse to say than from what you say.

Verizon takes more steps to lock down devices than other carriers, and they're often pretty slow to get out new Android versions.I paid extra for the UW variant of this phone, and had to sacrifice expandable storage in the process, and yet in spite of living in a nominal 5G area my mobile speeds are pretty meh, and the cell modem is pretty glitchy when it comes to handoff. I often have to cycle Mobile Data (or reboot) to get my apps to reconnect when I walk out of my home WiFi coverage.I wish you guys would be more transparent or, more importantly less shady and less insistent on loading good OEM phones down with proprietary hardware and firmware variants.I'd like you to tell us a date, and if you don't have one I don't want to hear the spin. Of course you have a software validation process, so does everyone else. Acknowledge that you're moving slower, and don't claim that your version will be better or less buggy, because that's not my experience with Verizon variant phones and I doubt you want to be held to that promise.

Clearly you did not read the thread.This is purely on Verizon, and you need to keep nagging your internal people about it.I bought my phone 4 months ago. It was released less than a year ago. It's getting leapfrogged on updates by phones many generations older, and the responsibility squarely lies with Verizon. All other carrier variants of this phone are getting the update.Nag them.

What's the point when all your going to say is "we have to wait for Google and the manufacturer", even though both have already released it and we're waiting on verizon. Just amazing verizon had a great network and now others are blowing them away and they use to be number 1 for updates, but others are blowing them away on that as well. Guess pay extra and get number 2 now.

Been waiting for the update as well. I almost regret buying the Verizon model of the phone since so many others already have the oxygen 11 update. Also kind of socks Verizon in lagging behind in 5g , had it in a few places and speeds were slower the 4g. Pay a higher price and getting less service is al,lst not worth it when others are catching up and releasing updates much faster. Really pondering TMobile as I hknow several loyal Verizon people that have switched and have just as good or better brokerage for a fraction of cost AND actually get their updates timely. Verizon is not the same that it use to be and as of right now its going in a direction it shouldn't.

Verizon had NEVER been good with releasing updates for phones. If you want fast updates, unfortunately, unlocked is the only way to go. Or, just ditch Verizon. They're horrible

It's ridiculous older models of the phone have the update already.

Here comes the message that we have to check with the phone manufacturer on when the update is available. Update has been available just waiting on Verizon.im giving a week on a response and so e kind of information or I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau.

goldbondx, the issues experience can all be easily rectified. We recommend making sure your device is backed up and completing a factory reset should the behaviors experienced since your update continue.
