No online technical support for someone without a phone to call

My phone is freaking out and I am trying to contact customer support. But all the options keep telling me to call. I have no other phone. Even trying to email customer support requires a phone call. (Contact Us> Phone and Accessories> Phone is not working) That is counterproductive for a phone company to only allow phone calls for service!

I guess they figure you know ONE person with a cell phone. or could go into one of the 250,000 locations. or know one person with a house phone still.

Most issues can't be fixed if you are on the phone but you can call anyway, depends on issue

If you have an inactive vzw phone, then you can call *611 from that phone and you can speak to a rep.

they used to have live chat for customer service. now you only get it if you go to purchase a product. i suspect that trouble shooting issues via live chat were a nightmare. heck...just inquiring about plans or products via live chat is tough.

Unfortunately, I had contacted customer service earlier in the day (via phone) to let them know about a pixleated screen. They agreed to send me a replacement because it was under warranty. Later on, at night, the screen started to get really really hot and it went completely black. I tried to get in contact with customer service online to determine what to do, but did not reach a person online. I took out the battery, but the screen continued to get hotter. It even burned my index finger. I had to use twitter to communicate with someone from Verizon. Now the phone won’t start. Had I been able to talk to someone, I might have been able to save the phone from completely dying (I refuse to pay for a replacement phone because I caused no physical damage to the phone).

Believe it or not, I wrote a tweet @vzwsupport commenting about the poor online support.  https://twitter.com/VZWSupport He was able to reassure me about my warranty questions. However, due to the limited size of Twitter, I was not able to explain the whole story, so now my phone has completly died.

The 250,000 locations didn't help me after 9PM. And showing up to a friends house at night just to borrow a cell phone is usually frowned upon. Unfortunately, it was an urgent issue that couldn't wait until morning.
