TIMING!! That reminds me of when the Inc4g was coming out, they purposely did it like a day or two after the last day for the end of unlimited data. I had watched that phone like a hawk, was going to get it, and probably would of had it but sat on the fence because I was not willing at the time to give up my unlimited data.

This announcement on the 22nd could possibly have something to do with plan tweaks too. I know I've heard a lot on the radio about Tmobile and their no contracts, unlimited everything for a stupid low price. I would do it in a heart beat except I'm not willing to take the beating on their network. ATT though I think will work for me if this phone isn't coming to verizon soon.

@ohredwood I have a feeling you're right, Verizon testing our loyalty to them by not switching over to another company because of the subsidy from HTC.

So because this phone has NO sd card slot, antenna issues, and now microphone issues, I'm not sold at all. I wasn't completely convinced on getting this phone when it was first shown off. Yes its pretty but so is an iphone yet I know its not the best (in my opinion). I hope the DLXplus is leaning more towards being a DNA2 because the DNA and Note 2 are the best phones out right now for verizon.

p.s. Verizon has yet to release a decent smartphone at all this year. This leads me to believe that they'll announce a "line up" of phones. New HTC flagship, Sammy's S4, and the Nokia phone.

I'm not going to let them "test my loyalty"!

Forget that!

I had phones for years on other networks and will gladly move away from the "red greed".

Just my opinion.

I just know I'm ready for a new phone.  Time to upgrade my Droid 2.  I really don't care for Samsung because fo the buid materials and the heavy handedness of their Android interface.  I'm drawn to the HTC One and if it was available now I'd go ahead and buy it.  If Apple came out with a bigger screen phone this Summer I'd go with them (shudder), but that ain't happening anytime soon.

I guess I'll wait for the 5/22/13 announcement and see what happens....

I wouldn't rule out an announcement related to a moto device either. Verizon has always been tight with moto and they haven't released anything recently either. I could see this announcement going the way of the next high end moto device, and having nothing to do with HTC or Samsung. I hope that's not the case, but who has Verizon always shown the most love to?

Heretic1989  "Maybe the Moto X?"

I would take it as long at it has 32gb internal memory and will let me use 64gb external memory and hopefully a removable battery...very doubtful on the removable battery though.  That could be a deal breaker there for me...maybe not.  It really is starting to appear that since the Note 2 never arrived in 32gb and they dragging their feet with S4 there won't be a 32gb version of the S4.

There will be a 32gb S4 version put out after they hoodwink everyone into purchasing a 16gb version first. AT&T did it. Example: http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/06/samsung-gs4-att-32gb/ Think of all the people mad as heck because they early adopted two weeks before the 32gb version came out. Just enough time that the gullible cannot return the phone after signing a new contract. Don't put it past VZW to pull the same thing and claim that there is no need for 32 and 64 gigabyte because they didn't sell well. Look up the sales numbers for the Galaxy S3 32gb and you immediately see it was sold out on day one of release and they couldn't keep them in stores for almost 6 months. Then they stopped getting them on purpose to force people to use more data and milk the sheeple of more money. VZW is a locust that thinks of nothing but heisting the customer for as much money as possible.

Nobody wins with this type of info.

If HTC says the One is coming to Verizon without a date, then people don't buy the DNA and HTC loses.

If HTC  doesn't announce the One coming to V, then people switch carriers to get it, or they buy the SG4 or consider the over-hyped Nokia coming. HTC loses again, Verizon loses customers (that they could care less about.)

HTC loses either way, thanks to Verizon.

The DNA is already 6 mo. old. Who wants to buy a 6-7 month old phone when there are more powerful, more current options?

If HTC and V, wait til November to release their variant, HTC will already be working on the next gen One and we as Verizon customers will lose out yet again.

The DNA is a huge mistake for HTC thanks to Verizon's game playing. Too little too late. Now everybody loses.

Verizon isn't going to lure customers by being last to carry the best, most important phones.

If they didn't have the biggest coverage footprint, they'd be done.
