They've had the DNA and S3 on sale off and on since Christmas. It means nothing. Just trying to move some product.

In fact Costco has been selling the DNA for @ $159. They also have the One for $159 and it just came out!!

I'm not gonna hold my breath for the 22nd Announcement either. They've already tweeted the release date for the SG4, and that will be the more popular phone.

I fear we will be waiting til late June/July before we possibly see the One here.

I wish the unlocked would work on Verizon.

a temporary sale is one thing, but the s3 is now $99, and will remain that price, because the s4 is out. if the DNA were to drop permanently to $99, then in my opinion, it would be because there was a new HTC device. not necessarily the "one," but some new HTC. that's what they do. when a new make/model comes, the older ones drop in price.

Oh oh. I bought the htc inc 4g because of the more than positive reviews i read about it's voice/call quality.

potential iphone4ish antenna issues.....different mics now (and VERY lucky they didn't have to halt sales)? maybe verizon knew what they were doing all along? we know they will get something, and even if it's not the "one," it may be a model that they waited on to avoid this stuff. it didn't happen (thanks to a sane judge), but just imagine if the courts had forced everyone to halt sales....after you ordered it. verizon could have just been playing very conservative, and wanted nothing to do with any of this.

Honestly antenna issues affect more phones than you know. I know on my Inc. If I move my hand away from the bottom of the phone I will get more "bars".

As a prior cell phone tech for Nextel, then Sprint, this was a common issue and these were phones that had a pull up antenna. Put your hand next to it, and your signal would drop.

People are expecting way too much out of their phones these days...Be my mp3 player and hold all my music, then be a camera and take better pics than a Cannon or Nikon and hold all my pics too. Then be a 1080p video recorder and hold all my videos.

Then be a tablet so I can surf the internet, then be a tv so I can watch movies and shows.

Oh and don't forget, I need to text and possibly make a phone call.

And! It better not cost me more than $200, because if I were to buy all those things seperately, it wouldn't cost nearly $200 .

It's getting to the point of ridiculousness, what we are expecting from cell phones these days.

Haha, I agree with ya my brother, though I will say this...After a few months of paying all those fees that allow you to have the so called options you just mentioned, one could of bought themselves a new dell, a new camera, and have just enough to buy themselves a flip phone for making just calls....LOL

These phone company's I doubt make a ton of money on the sale of phones, it's the packages, add ons, accessories they get the bulk of their profit from, that's my guess anyway..

No, you're correct. They actually lose money on subsidizing the phones and then make the killing on the plans.

Right.  Saying the phone costs $200 is a little like the used car dealer ignoring the down payment, interest & length of the loan and saying "your monthly payments will only be __". 

Well how much are you really paying?  It's more like $2,000 for the phone; and that's for only two years of use with limited text/data.  You don't have to make monthly payments on an ipod or cannon (if you are then you shouldn't have them).

Though I do agree the people who need a world class camera/screen, etc. on their phones are a little needy.

  Came across a less than stellar review of the One.  I did notice of four samples I checked at Best Buy, one did have a distinct edge on the bottom speaker grill on the inside left corner.  The other units were fine.  I was planning on checking the unit before I purchased it, given that.

  Does anyone know/think HTC will have their $100+ phone exchange rebate should they come out on Verizon.  I got my rebate code and it requires purchasing the phone by May 19th - obviously on a different carrier.

but, doesn't it figure that it requires purchasing by May 19...when Verizon is going to make some sort of announcement on the 22nd?

I only mention this because I was going to jump on the 22nd if it is not being announced by Verizon.  That $100 would come in handy!  The timing is never quite right, is it? haha!  Life goes on...
