I agree. I don't recall them ever holding such an event for a phone? I believe it will have something more to do with pricing or their network, or some type of new program.

maybe if verizon gets their own "version" of the one, it won't be such a bad thing. we've got iphone4esque type of problems here:

The HTC 1 does look cool AZ and is something that Verizon has needed from HTC in a long Time

it's a great looking phone. However, no removable battery and no sd slot would be a deal killer for me. i prefer htc to samsung (specifically sense ui), but with the s4 having nearly identical specs, a removable (larger) battery, sd slot, thinner profile, and shipping with android 4.2 (instead of 4.1), i would have to go with it and just load a launcher. i LOVE the dual speakers on the one though. the build looks much nicer, but since i put a case on it anyhow, the aluminum vs. plastic casing is no big deal to me. the phone looks amazing, but it just took a bit too much of a turn towards apple in my opinion. in theory, a non removable battery shouldn't matter, but i have yet to own an android that i didn't need to do a battery pull here and there for. and if there was a 64 gig version then i suppose the sd slot wouldn't matter much either, but i nearly fill my 32 gig sd card on my note ii and did so with my tbolt. i also have sd cards that contain a ton of media that i just throw in when i'm traveling. the one would be my dream phone if it only had those 2 features. i don't like this trend of moving to no external storage and no removable battery, so i'll continue to support the models that offer these features.

if we get the HTC One ill be happy. if we get a Second Generation DNA, ill be even happier because i like the droid line. I just hope whatever Verizon gets has 32GB or more. if it doesn't have a SD card slot i can careless.

@mk7se ... really? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbgJ8HdP-cE

not only did they announce the HTC Thunderbolt, they announced a whole slew of devices ranging from Tablets to mobile hotspots. This is why I told @random that I wouldn't be surprised if they announced Sammy and Nokia devices too.

of course it turned towards apple and of course HTC were the first with an aluminum android smartphone. HTC signed a deal with Apple to have not "patent wars" in the next 10 years.http://www.forbes.com/sites/ericsavitz/2012/11/11/apple-htc-settle-patent-suits-sign-10-year-licensi...

http://www.forbes.com/sites/ericsavitz/2012/11/11/apple-htc-settle-patent-suits-sign-10-year-licensi...You should also realize that HTC tends to love to be FIRST in everything android. ex) first G1, first verizon 4G lte phone, first facebook phone. and I completely agree with supporting devices with sd card slots because 1) not everyone likes cloud 2) it's HUGE feature that separates Android from iOS.

as far as removable battery, I'm still sitting on the fence.

referring to that article you found, that sucks! I hope this is what the rumors meant by Verizon "testing" it out more, so we wouldn't have to deal with this issue.

yes, but that wasn't a "verizon" event. that was at CES, where EVERYONE shows off their upcoming gadgets. this is entirely different. verizon didn't hold an event of their own for the tbolt and those tablets. they simply used time and space at CES to do it. i'm not saying it's "not" what the event is for. i'm just saying they've never held their own event to announce a phone (that i know of). it was really more showing off what they'd be doing with LTE.

and yes, if there really is an antennagate issue, then i doubt verizon customers will be upset if they have to wait longer, if it means no antenna issues.

ohh...so I guess Verizon can't have a "verizon" event at http://www.ctia.org/ now...

They're "simply using time and space at" ctia to make an announcement my friend.

I guess you've also forgotten this announcement about just 1 single phone, which I don't know how anyone could. http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/01/11Verizon-Wireless-Apple-Team-Up-to-Deliver-iPhone-4-on-Veri...

I'm not trying to sound like a dick, I'm just trying to express my opinion on what will happen.

Yeah, no sd card slot, with the antenna issues, as well as this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKmeNKnX9Cg ... strays me away from the htc one.

i didn't realize this was at ctia. i thought it was like their own press event (like what apple, samsung, yada yada yada do). and i didn't know they held an event for the iphone. i did say "that i know of." in any event, i hope they announce something related to the One. i just don't know that they will. i may not prefer this phone, but i'd still like to see universal models across all carriers.

The thing is, they don't carry the nexus 4. And I don't see why they don't carry the other smartphones either. They would make ALOT more money since the Nexus 4 is one of the best smartphones on the market. They don't care about customer satisfaction.
