NOTE 3 POOR RECEPTION QUALITY

I have had my note 3 since November and have loved it until about 3 or 4 months ago when the signal strength started to get real poor.  Now in areas where I had 4G at a very high strength I have a weak signal or 3 G if I am lucky.  I have experienced more dropped calls in the last 3 or 4 months than I have in my 4 years as a Verizon customer.  I have visited a store have called for assistance, and the sim card has been replaced, reboot, the phone a full factory reset, and nothing seems to help.  Again great phone but terrible service.  I may need to consider another provider.  Not happy.  Has anyone had these same issues?

If you search these forums, yes, many owners of Note3s have had reception issues post-KitKat update.

Look under your battery. What is the build date of your phone? If 2013, it could be caused by low-level hardware and/or low-level software differences that aren't working well with the KitKat OS update. You can Google this on the web: Note3 Kitkat reception.

On one site, posters found relief with their Note3 by having it replaced with a 2014 build or refurbish date.

Since you've tried all the recommended remedies, if it were me, I would research this, prepare myself, then I would call Samsung and demand a replacement device with a fairly recent build-date. Good luck.

Verizon customers it time we take a stand this is ridiculous that we paid 300 plus dollars for a phone that we can even hold a conversation on I have called verizion numerous time did the phone tech stuff take it apart change the sims card and tske it to the store even had the tech guy completly rebuild my verizon account this is on top of the the hours I have spent on the phone for example last night talked to 5 verizon reps from 530 pm to 8 pm and all they told me is they would warrenty my phone out and send me a s5 which has the same os and from the same com0any so why would it work and better then they told my they would let me trade my phone in and buy another brand which I would have to pay for a new charger phone case ect total 150 dollars after I have paid for a phone that I cant use for the past eight months verizon thos is very disappointing and you will see more and more people going to tmoible and sprint who will pay the early termination fee if you change to them so why stay with verizon. Been a vrz customer for over ten years never complained never had a issue which is why I stayed paying a bit more but what is the point now I have horrible service with you now so I may as well save some money thank you ex loyal customer

I have had 3 note 3s since February. I must say that I have had the worst customer service ever!!! Today, a manager named Kim in Arkansas told me that I could pay $145 and edge up to another phone or opt for a galaxy s5 with a smaller screen and no stylus and continue to pay $29/month for it...that is considered a "free replacement." Or, I could call Samsung and send it back to them...so, I would have a bill with NO phone!?! I purchased the note 3 because I love the size of the screen as well as the stylus pen, therefore, why would I downsize my phone? I simply asked could I edge to another phone without paying to end the agreement on the phone that does NOT work. I am soooo disgusted with the Verizon! Hello new service provider!

I have done all of these things as well. This is getting ridiculous. And, all they want to do is give someone another note 3 or s5. Done with Samsung and Verizon!

Good news bad news. Good news samsung coming out with newer phones. Bad news samsung coming out with newer phones and people won't buy them if their note 3 keep performing good. So to sell new stuff Verizon is helping by cutting of service to note 3. Dont believe me use your own brain and think if you controlled the signal, would you do what it takes to sell new product so you make more money? FK what any support says use your brain.

I would be a late adopter of the Note4 if at all. Samsung not addressing these issues, in their Note3, and charging port issues in their other devices...  let someone else do the beta and long term reliability testing...

Soooo... We're blaming Verizon for a product they don't manufacture, and which every other company also sells... Tell me, do you really think Sprint or Tmobile is going to react to this kind of issue any differently? Talk to Samsung.

Phone companies don't make as much money off of selling new phones as you think. They actually discount them to below cost generally to get you to use their service. The service is where the money is. In other words, I really think you're wrong about this conspiracy theory. It would make no sense to try to sell more phones, which you make no money on, by making people unhappy with the service, which they do make money on.
