My phone is lost in my house apparently with the sound turned off. Is there any way to find it?

I lost my phone in my house. Apparently the ring tone is turned off. Any suggestions to finding it? Does Verizon have a way to over ride this and turn the ring tone back on?

I would suggest trying Android Device Manager. I am unsure if you have to have activated this prior to losing your phone, though. It's amazing how many people don't think of things such as this until it is too late.

Of course if your battery dies before you find it, you will simply have to find it by manually searching your home.

Depends on the phone. Motorola phones can be contacted via a computer which will make it ring even if the volume is off. There are several apps on Google Play that also will do this for any device. I recommend you download one after you find your phone.

Android Device Manager is an opt-out feature for which you must manually uncheck the box in System Administrator options.  Even if the phone is off, ADM will show last known location....provided you never turned off Google Location Services.

It appears they already know the last known location to the level of accuracy of ADM. They believe it is in their home. ADM would not be able to tell them it is under the middle cushion on the family room couch, though. Hopefully the battery has not yet died and will ring when ADM attempts to find it.Smiley Happy

I was attempting to convey hope that since the ADM is opt out, it is most likely enabled, save if locations services are manually set to disabled.  Also, I included the part concerning "last known location" for future reference should the phone be lost again elsewhere in a larger area and the phone was off.
