I've tried popping the battery out, turning it off, everything. It will not stop restarting itself though. It'll restart, I won't even touch it and it will restart itself again.

Mine is too. It started just after midnight local time. I can't even call customer service, because it keeps restarting, before someone picks up. What is going on?

Sounds like you guys are headed back to a Verizon store for repair or replacement.
All I can suggest is cleaning the battery terminals and contacts. Although that can cause these problems, it sounds pretty trivial in both the cases I see here. But being a trouble-shooting kind of guy, I just can'thelp myself....
Good luck to both of you,
Geri O

Mine is doing the same thing! I have only had the phone for 1 week! I thought I would come on here and find an answer, but it seems that it is happening to quite a few users. It just started all of the sudden this morning. Nice way to start the New Year, I can't use my new phone!

Look through all of the threads that are discussing this problem It appears that this issue is related to installed apps somehow. Someone is reporting that they un-installed their apps and the problem stops.
No mention of exactly what app is causing the issue. I can't help much since I'm not having this problem with my Eris.
Neither is my daughter's Eris.
Good luck, Geri O

Were you able to find a solution to this problem? I was having a similar issue, it would spontaneously shut down. The issue has worstened to now it will not turn on. Battery was at 3/4 full.
