Major security vulnerability in some Samsung phones could trigger factory reset via web page

This is a post that I read that has been verified on a number of news reports, spoke to Samsung and they reported that they are addressing this issue and a fix will be coming shortly but until then it is wise for all Samsung users be educated to avoid any issues with the device...

I JUST TESTED AND VERIFIED THAT IF YOU USE CHROME BROWSER ON ALL ICS DEVICES SHOULD HELP, IT WONT ALLOW CODE TO BE TRIGGERED UNLIKE THE STOCK BROWSER WILL...

Correct Chrome doesn't block all the time but replacing the dialer with a 3rd party dialer does...

I read another article (and tested on my Rezound), this is not exclusive to Samsung phones. But, yes, using a different dialer will fix it, but you don't necessarily need to use it, just set it as default when selecting phone numbers from the browser.

Actually I posted over at B33 post about this and a easier method is to install "Telstop" from the Play Store, the developer created this app just for this situation and it works well..

Thanks for the heads up, Wildman and B33. I just went to the Android Central page and used their vulnerability test on my Stratosphere with the recent FF1 update. The result shows no vulnerability on this phone, so I hope that will set my fellow Strat users' minds at rest. One thing that we apparently don't have to worry about! It's a safe, fast, simple test, and I'd recommend anyone who's concerned about this issue try it.
