Lg Ally QWERTY Keyboard Issues...please help

I recently purchased the LG Ally.  Twice now, I have been having problems with the slide-out QWERTY keyboard.  When typing a text message, when I hit the letter "E" it opens my email, instead of typing the letter.  The letter "Y" opens Youtube.

The first time this happened, it corrected itself somehow after a few hours.  This time, it has been doing it since yesterday.  I tried to shut off and restart my phone, but it didn't make any difference.  Any help would be appreciated!!

I'm having the same problem.  Now I have to turn it off / back on to resolve.  It's driving me nuts.

those are hotkeys to the programs....

below is from the ally manual

Setting Keyboard Shortcuts to Applications

You can set certain keys to launch selected applications. This may

be helpful for multitasking when you are using the slideout

QWERTY keyboard.

From the Home screen, press the Menu Key > touch

Settings

select the keyboard shortcuts you want to set.

let me simplify...

when typing you must me touching the "search" button by accident.

holding search while typing enables the keyboard short cuts.

example search and e= email

Hi there, a quick fix for the issue:

Hit the "Search button" on your qwerty keyboard twice to restore it back to regular qwerty mode.
