I just got an LG Spectrum 2 about 2 weeks ago. I love the phone, but am having a hard time with the battery. I work 8 hours a day. While I am at work, I have sync, bluetooth, wifi, data and GPS off and I don't use it at all except to check once in awhile to see if I have a text (not even unlocking phone, just turning the light on for a second to see the home screen). By the time I get off work, my battery indicator is red. What else can I possibly do? Is the battery life really that short??? I read other people's comments saying they get 8 hours with use. If I am using it (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) I am lucky to get 4 hours. I wait until my battery is less than 10% before I charge it and I charge it to full every time I use it too. Please help!!!

I wonder if there might be an app that's doing something in the background. Certain "battery saver" and task-killer apps can actually drain the battery faster. You might take a look through your downloaded apps to see if there's anything suspicious. Also, on my Samsung Stratosphere, if I go into Settings (Home Page > Menu > Settings) and then Applications, there's a section on Battery use. Tapping that shows what apps and system functions have been using the battery. Hopefully the Spectrum has something similar.

I've gone into my apps and closed all of the ones that I am not afraid to
close (facebook, bible, gallery, words with friends, etc.)

My biggest use is my screen? I check it every hour to see if I have missed
anything, but my phone will be dead before I get off work and I haven't
even really used it. I don't get it.

The screen is a hog when it comes to battery usage. How long do you have set for the screen to remain on? If it's more than two minutes, change the screen timeout to two minutes or less. What is your brightness level? If you have it set to maximum, bring it down to around 50%. Better yet, set it to automatic. Finally, are you using live wallpaper? If so, go to a nice, single, non-moving wallpaper. The live ones are great, unfortunately, they are also great in eating battery time. As for GPS, WiFi, etc., you seem to be doing the right thing. If you have any "battery saver" apps, get rid of them. They are always on and working, and using up the battery. That is also true of any Task Manager apps you might have installed.

I have no live wallpaper, screen timeout is 30 seconds and brightness is
set to auto. I just got off the phone with their tech support and they are
sending me a new phone. They think something is wrong with the phone.

Just bought this phone and having an issue 24 hours later. I will change some settings and let the battery shut down, let it charge overnight and then track it tomorrow. But I am writing to ask how your new phone has worked out with its battery.

Easy fix, let it charge for a bit, then unplug the charger, press and hold power just like you would to boot your phone, once you feel the vibration "bump" then you are headed to normal boot. Once you get there, plug the charger back in and you should be good to go.
