I need to be able to BLOCK a number from someone who is harassing me and the Verizon site says I have to upgrade my LG G2 in order to BLOCK phone numbers. This is very unacceptable. I've only had my LG G2 for short amount of time, and upgrading my phone is out of the question. Blocking a number on my former iPhone 4 was simple. There has to be a way to make this happen. Solution needed ASAP please.
Also, since the KitKat "update" my phone will not send or receive any multimedia messages via text (the LG app, Verizon text app, any I've tried). My local Verizon store's "solution" has been to do a Hard Reset. I've done this TWICE now. It worked for about 2 weeks the first time and 2 days the second time. I need a REAL SOLUTION/FIX for this ASAP as well.
Thank you!

You can block a number via Call and Message Blocking. The free service will block their number up to 90 days, while their paid subscription service will block the number permanently. Unfortunately, only few Android devices allow the option to block a number via the device itself. It's a difference between iOS and Android.
Call and Message Blocking - My Verizon
As for the MMS issue, I won't address. I haven't had an issue on my G2.

Thank you LRVassar for your quick response to my issue. I have tried to do
just that via Call and Message Blocking, but that page says my phone
doesn't support it/must be upgraded. I'm waiting to see if there's just
some delay in my request of adding on the free service of Call and Message
Blocking. Either way, having to WAIT to block a number seems ludicrous.

SDBverizon,
I am so sorry to hear you are having issues with blocking numbers via your My Verizon account. We want to make sure we put a stop to these harassing calls. Please private message me so we can make sure we block the number.
Also, in regards to your issues with MMS messaging, what type of message do you receive when you try to send the message? What messages do others receive when they try to send you an MMS message?

Hi Lindsey,
As far as the MMS messaging (I believe this is because of the Android KitKat update)...any type of photo/image I try to send via text will not go through. When this started a month or so ago, it would say the message was too large, etc. whether I used wifi or data and I was not sending large files (no larger than any time previously). Now if I try to send an image, it just says sending...will sometimes blink...or I get the spinning icon...and then a message that it will not go through and do I want to try and resend now or later...but it NEVER goes through. As of today, if I try to send an image, it says sending and then nothing happens...there's no record of it in my text or in the receiver's text.
With receiving images, the senders don't receive a notice that their image did not go through, but I receive a square with a broken image icon...I NEVER receive the image.
I may have nipped the "blocking issue" on a personal level, but I'd still like the capability to be able to block numbers if this sort of thing happens again. Thank you for any help you can provide. - Stacy

I'm sorry you're still having issues with this feature SDBverizon. Are you using a 3rd party messaging application? Are you using any 3rd party picture apps? I also recommend checking your messaging settings. Have you tried a factory reset after the last update?

I was using the factory installed messaging/text App (what came with the LG
G2). After TWO (2) factory resets and multiple visits to my local Verizon
store, they suggested I install the Verizon Message+ App and unfortunately
I still have the same issue.
I've not downloaded or used any 3rd party messaging or picture apps.
I had the Verizon store check my messaging settings as well. They said
they've had several people come in with the same issue after the Kit Kat
update.
They were going to send me a replacement phone as a solution, but then said
I'd most likely encounter the same issue with a new phone and to just do
another factory reset. After resetting my phone once again, it worked for a
couple of days and went right back to the same issue.
Their ONLY solution to the issue is to WAIT on the next Android Update, but
that could be months from now...this is also unacceptable.
I should be able to send/receive photos via text message...this is
basic...I'm honestly beyond frustrated paying for a phone that doesn't work
and would appreciate a REAL solution ASAP. Thank you!

SDBverizon We understand how frustrating the message issue has become for you. As a solution, the basic troubleshooting would need to be completed and we are aware that you have tried these steps already. We are sure there is a fix coming but there is not a time frame that can be provided. Swapping sims or devices is also another possible solution until more information regarding a fix arrives. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you, but this is still NOT a solution. I shouldn't have to go through
a factory reset every couple of days in order to have a correctly
functioning device. I'm paying too much for a product that doesn't perform
one of it's basic, core functions. In addition to the messaging issue,
callers are rarely able to hear me unless I'm using speaker phone. I've had
too many issues from this device and it's practically brand new (only a few
months old).
I need a real solution (not paying full price while waiting potentially
months on Android to fix the issue) or I need a new device ASAP. Thank you!
