Kindle app excessive data use

I recently purchased my first smart phone, a Motorola Droid Mini. Most of my data time has been connected to WiFi. However last week I was out of town for three days and unconnected to WiFi. In those three days the Kindle app used 1.38 GB of data!!! That's almost a month's worth. I have never even used this app. Does anyone have an idea as to what's going on?

Maybe it was trying to update itself.

If you don't intend to ever use this application, I would suggest that you uninstall its updates and then disable it. This will guarantee there won't be a repeat of the data usage by this application again.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

KenBohl, congratulations on your upgrade to a new Smartphone! We're so excited for you. The Kindle application allows you to browse and download thousand's of books, magazines, and newspapers at your findertips. However, when accessing this application, you are utilizing your data allowance. Did you download an application?
