Since the Lollipop update, instead of the home page coming up when I swipe to unlock it, the Keyboard/Contacts app comes up and I have to back out of that, then go to Apps, then select what it is I was looking for in the first place! Absolutely HATE this update! I have to remove the back of the phone to charge it because it's overheating! The battery life has plummeted even when using Battery Doctor. I even hate the "new colors"! Why aren't we being given a chance by Samsung/Verizon on what apps we want on our phone, the colors we chose ourselves and stop using us a guinea pigs!

Try swiping up or down instead I believe left swipe is contacts, right swipe camera and up or down is unlock, I haven't seen that on my Note 4 but read that it is supposed to be on some devices.

If you just got Lollipop give a few days to settle down and the battery usage to get back to normal, depending on your device of course. The S5 seems to still have issues even after the initial settling time other devices such as the Note 4 seem to get back to normal or perhaps better than previous. Colors yes they have forced a bunch of colors on most of the built-in apps many of which are annoying at best.

Got the update about 3 weeks ago (Verizon) and I kid you not, the phone gets so hot I'm afraid it's going to spontaneously combust LOL! Thanks again for your help and I hope they get it together! If you hear anything about those ugly colors on the S5 and how to change them, drop me a line

Michelle, I've had one problem after another with this phone since the Lollipop rollout. I've spent hours talking to your customer suppiort techs and Samsung only to be offered a "certified like new" phone, which is fancy for USED! I am disillusioned with both companies and am presently looking for another carrier to buy out the year I have left on my cointract. I'm tired of wasting my time and extremely tired of paying you guys every month for a phone that I have to turn off and one again constantly for it to make just a simple phone call!!! I would have even calmed diown if SOMEONE offered a credit on my bill for all the problems, but let's not cut into Verizon's profit by treating a customer right!

Before offereing to replace the device, has a master rest already been performed? While our certified like new phone are refurbished, they go through a 100 point inspection ensuring the device works like new before shipping it out. We truly beleive this is the best resolution and would recommend giving it try before calling it quits with us.
