Thanks for the reply. I fixed the problem by uninstalling Gboard and then reinstalling it.

It seems to only appear in certain applications for me after adjusting the keyboard application settings to verify the option was turned on.

Go to the google play store.  Locate the app (search).

It's always good to know the options to download a keyboard.To clarify, you can install the Google Keyboard directly from the Google Play Store from your device.
