Invalid Server Certificate/Blue vs. White Signal

1. Does anyone know why or what is causing the error: "Invalid Server Certificate" for email accounts? I'm receiving this message for my Yahoo! email and my corporate email that I have set up on my Motorola Droid 3.
2. Does anyone know why or what is causing my signal bars to flip between a blue color and white? I can go from "3G" to "1X" to nothing in a matter of seconds, even with all four bars (full strength). Are these two things related?
