There's a whole slew of developers out there analyzing and testing different interface designs and different apps & widgets for these phones. Yet why don't these companies like Verizon & Motorola, etc. learn the key lesson that efficiency and usability is not just about intuitive design. The ease of using a tool is in its familiarity. You get quick at doing certain tasks through repetition.
Once again, a so-called "improvement" and "upgrade" has degraded my efficiency. I was using the "Messages" icon probably a hundred times a day to review all my emails, texts, FB updates, etc in a single place. It is now gone. So I spent acollected 60 minutes yesterday and this morning unlearning/relearning way to get the information I wanted.
Yes, it will get faster. Yes, I will get used to it soon. But my blood pressure rose slightly while dealing with the unecessary frustration. I actually have used my phone less and turned to my desktop more. And for what? I'm not seeing what I gained from their little experiment.
Is it just me? Or are other people pleased as punch and really getting a lot out of the Ice cream sandwich? BTW, the cuter the name the more likely the change is hype over substance and this is over-the-top fad name.
It crashed my Droid 4 so hard that I can't even turn it on again.

Guess it depends what is important to you. For me, the GSM capability provided by the update is essential (I got the phone because I knew the update was coming). Other stuff works fine for me, better battery life and better performance. I know that not everyone was that lucky!
Re cute: I think that is hard to measure, why is ICS cuter than cupcake, eclair, honeycomb etc? Is Jellybean and Key Lime Pie more or less cute than ICS!
