Many phones will require an update to get these msg's. One part of theTB update was for this! It iis a great idea, however to be in a store and hear all the phones go off for a thunderstorm watch will be interesting

Here's a Verizon page with information on this: http://support.verizonwireless.com/faqs/Wireless%20Service/emergency_alerts_faq.html. It has a list headed "Capable devices include:", but the list is a very short one. Neither my phone nor my wife's is listed. In fact, there is only one Samsung phone listed, the Convoy, though there are Motorola phones older than my Stratosphere listed. So: is the list incomplete (it doesn't claim to be all-encompassing); did Samsung miss the boat; or what? The page offers a couple of links that look like they're going to go to more complete device information but (and I wish I could say this surprised me) they just redirect back to this same page.
Sprint's list includes, among others, a Samsung Galaxy SII 4G Touch. AT&T's list is even shorter, but it also includes a Samsung Galaxy SII.

I'm sure most phones will be updated before too long to enable this.
