I am so disappointed. I am a long time Droid user and research the Droid Turbo for several months before purchasing. I even read the reviews that indicated that there was a issue when attempting to use the phone calling feature and data at the same time. I called Verizon and talked with a rep. who indicated that he had the new phone and assured me that this issue had been fixed. Unfortunately, when I received the phone this was not the case. Even an update shortly after purchase still did not fix this issue. All of my Droids before this did not have this issue...how can a newer more improved phone? I even called Motorola and the English of the representative was so bad that I could not overcome the language barrier therefore no solution was reached. Wish I had my Razr HD back :{

Have you gotten the update that enables VoLTE yet?
VoLTE arrives on Droid Turbo in Advanced Calling update | Android Central
And then you would have to login to your account and enable VoLTE for this device.
Beware however that VoLTE does have some drawbacks such as calls will dropping when you move from 4G to 3G service and the fact that you are using data for calling which could be a big problem if you have low data plan.

What application do you use for text messaging? Message+ ?
If so, have you checked the application settings, go to the main message list in Message+ hit the menu button and select Tones, choose a messaging tone from there (you may be prompted to choose an application to browse tones).
Also scroll down to Advanced Settings and that you have Notifications turned on if you want LED and/or vibrate enabled. You can also choose to repeat reminder. If you use a different app should be similar setting but may be called notifications, sounds, etc.

JohnB_VZW, It comes up with a message that states data function is not available. During my research there was someone else that complained about the same issue and a Verizon Rep responded that an update would be coming from Motorola that would correct this issue. Because I travel a lot and do not have access to wifi while on the road it can be a problem (not driving) when I try to access needed information while on a phone call.
