Are you looking to transfer photos from you computer to your Galaxy 2? You should be able to connect the phone to your computer and the phone will show up as a drive on your computer. Then you should be able to copy photos from your computer to that drive that represents the phone.

I HAD (notice All Caps) on my laptop and a Motorola Razr Maxx. I tried everything to connect the two, with no success. Customer service for both Microsoft and Verizon had no ideas to give me. Finally, out of shear desperation I converted back to Windows 7. Yes, took much work; however, now my Smartphone and my stupid laptop can talk to one another. For some unknown reason, Windows 8 will not connect to a smartphone, even though you download the USB operating system.

well not to burst your bubble I have no difficulty connecting any of my 2 droid phones or my iphone to my Windows 8 computers or lap tops or tablets. There has to be a setting on your computer which had Windows 8 that was stopping your phone from connecting.
I would do a google search on the original problem just to make sure. Or you can buy manuals for Windows 8 as I had to look up such issues.
